SF6 Gas Dew Point Meter | Detailed introduction of technical principles

 

The core principle of the SF6 trace moisture analyzer is based on the measurement of water vapor partial pressure in the gas, converting the moisture content into a quantifiable electrical signal through a sensor. The mainstream technology is the polymer thin-film capacitance method.

Its core utilizes a capacitive humidity sensor that is highly sensitive to water molecules. The sensor's core is an extremely thin polymer film whose dielectric constant changes significantly with the amount of adsorbed water vapor. When SF6 gas containing trace amounts of moisture flows through the sensor, water molecules are selectively adsorbed by the film, causing a linear change in its capacitance value.

The instrument measures this capacitance change through a precision circuit and, based on the calibration relationship between water vapor partial pressure and capacitance value, directly calculates the dew point temperature of the gas at the current temperature and pressure. Finally, it automatically converts and displays the volume fraction (ppm₀) under standard conditions (e.g., 20°C, 101.3 kPa). This method offers fast response and high sensitivity, making it a key means of evaluating the insulation performance of SF6 gas. The SF₆ trace moisture analyzer has a measurement range of -80℃ to +20℃, with a full-range accuracy better than ±2℃. Annual drift is ≤1℃. The instrument features a beautiful and reasonable design and uses high-quality materials.
