The principle of a transformer load switch tester is to simulate actual switch operation and simultaneously measure its key mechanical and electrical parameters to evaluate switch performance.

The core consists of two parts:

1. Time Characteristic Test: The instrument controls the switch to perform opening/closing operations and records the on/off times of its auxiliary contacts. By measuring the movement time of the moving contact (e.g., opening/closing time, synchronicity, bounce time), the normality and speed of its mechanical operating mechanism are determined.

2. Loop Resistance Test: With the switch closed, the instrument outputs a constant DC current (e.g., 100A) to its conductive circuit using the DC voltage drop method, and simultaneously measures the small voltage drop generated across the switch. The loop resistance is calculated based on Ohm's law. The resistance value sensitively reflects whether the contact is good, whether there is burning, or insufficient pressure.
