MSVIF-101G VLF Tan Delta Tester
Product Overview:
The test system enables medium-voltage cable testing in accordance with CENELEC harmonized standards HD 620 S1:1996 and HD 621 S1:1996, utilizing a 0.1 Hz sinusoidal voltage with an RMS value of up to 24 kV. Such testing allows for the detection of insulation faults—specifically water tree damage—and reliably induces flashovers in both PE/XLPE and paper-insulated cables without damaging healthy insulation.
The system also supports dielectric breakdown strength testing using positive and negative DC voltages, as well as trapezoidal AC voltage (rectangular wave voltage). The slew rate for rectangular wave voltage is automatically adjusted based on cable capacitance.
Additional leakage current measurements in DC mode allow for an assessment of the relative quality of the cable insulation. Furthermore, the sinusoidal test voltage enables direct measurement of the cable's dielectric loss factor, thereby determining the extent of insulation degradation. Please refer to the relevant manuals for detailed information on this application.
