Anti-interference dielectric loss tester
Anti-interference dielectric loss tester | Detailed introduction of technical principles
A tanδ test kit is used to measure the dielectric loss factor (tanδ) of high-voltage equipment (such as transformer bushings, instrument transformers, and cables) in the field. Its core principle is to calculate the ratio of active power loss to reactive current (tanδ) by accurately measuring the amplitude and phase of the current flowing through the insulating medium under AC high voltage.
During testing, the kit typically includes a high-voltage power supply, a standard capacitor, and a precision measuring unit. In the positive connection method, a high-voltage power supply at power frequency is applied to the equipment insulation, and the vector difference between the current in the test object and the current in the standard capacitor is measured and compared. In the reverse connection method (for equipment with one end grounded), the total current flowing through the test object and its phase are directly measured. Using bridge balancing or digital vector analysis techniques, the active component (reflecting insulation loss) and capacitive component of the current are accurately separated, and the tanδ value and capacitance are finally calculated. An increase in the tanδ value can sensitively reflect overall insulation dampness, aging, or deterioration, and is a key parameter for insulation condition diagnosis.
