With the rise of oil-free medium voltage switches, vacuum switches have been widely promoted and applied due to their unique advantages. Over the years, due to production processes and on-site environmental factors, some vacuum switches may experience varying degrees of leakage in their vacuum arc extinguishing chambers during operation, and some may leak to the point where they cannot be disconnected normally within their normal lifespan. In this situation, disconnection may result in the inability to disconnect normally, leading to serious consequences. Most domestic vacuum switch accidents are caused by this reason. So strengthening regular or irregular testing of vacuum switch vacuum degree has become a very important link.

The traditional detection method is the "withstand voltage method", which applies a certain voltage between the moving and stationary contacts when the vacuum switch is in the open state, detects the magnitude of its leakage current, and infers the quality of the vacuum tube. The advantages of this method are: simple operation; The disadvantage is that it can only qualitatively detect the quality of vacuum tubes; Moreover, the vacuum degree between 10-4 and 10-1Pa cannot be accurately distinguished, so it is impossible to determine the development trend of leakage (i.e. the degree of leakage of the same vacuum switch compared to the last time).
