I. Overview

Currently, the primary challenge in locating DC ground faults within power systems is significant on-site interference. Many existing products suffer from poor interference immunity when operating under varying DC power conditions and operational states, leading to measurement errors and misdiagnoses; this is the most significant drawback and a widespread issue with such products. Our product has rapidly established a foothold in the market precisely because it successfully resolves these interference issues. Developed using phase-lead processing technology and data transfer algorithms, this instrument bridges the gap between online and portable systems—offering the operational convenience of a portable device combined with the performance capabilities of an online system. Key features include high detection sensitivity, robust interference immunity, compact size, light weight, and ease of use. It enables precise fault location without the need to disconnect the power supply. Capable of measuring DC system grounding resistance, the instrument serves as a practical, reliable, and highly accurate tool for detecting and locating ground faults in power system DC networks.

 

II. Performance Features

1. The instrument consists of a transmitter and an analyzer; the transmitter draws power directly from the busbar, eliminating the need for external AC power or batteries, making operation more convenient.

2. The analyzer and transmitter communicate via 2.4GHz wireless technology; both units feature identical interfaces and synchronized displays.

3. It resolves all types of grounding faults, including poor insulation (virtual grounding), high-resistance grounding, multi-point grounding, single-point grounding, low-resistance grounding, direct grounding, cross-line grounding, loop grounding, capacitive grounding, AC-coupled grounding, and transistor-isolated grounding.

4. It completely eliminates DC system grounding faults; unaffected by large distributed capacitance in the field, it accurately pinpoints the fault location within the smallest possible range.

5. It accurately measures line leakage current and rapidly pinpoints the fault location by comparing leakage current values upstream and downstream of the fault point.

6. A single DC grounding detector unit serves DC systems rated below 250V, with no special requirements regarding the DC voltage level.

7. Signal output power is <0.15W with built-in current-limiting protection; it has no impact on relay protection, automation devices, or control circuits, ensuring safe operation.

8. Intelligent current clamps automatically detect whether the large or small clamp is open or closed, and both clamp sizes utilize a unified interface.

9. It adapts to various grounding scenarios, including those caused by AC/DC cross-connection, ring-main power supply, diode-isolated power supply, and high-resistance grounding.

10. Capable of detecting battery grounding faults.

11. Capable of measuring system-to-ground capacitance.

12. Capable of measuring system DC bus voltage.

13. Capable of detecting 50Hz AC cross-connection faults.
