The YDQ-10kVA/100kV gas-insulated test transformer is primarily designed for high-voltage testing of power equipment rated at 35kV and below. Although capable of an output voltage of 100kV, practical applications must adhere to industry standards regarding test voltage multipliers; it is suitable for insulation testing of small to medium-sized power equipment, including:

 Distribution equipment: 10kV and 35kV distribution transformers.

 Switchgear and bushings: Circuit breaker arc-extinguishing chambers, vacuum interrupters, high-voltage porcelain insulators, and bushings.

 Insulated tools: Withstand voltage testing for high-voltage protective gear such as insulating rods, gloves, and boots.

 Cable accessories: Terminations and joints for power cables rated at 35kV and below.

The equipment is mainly used to verify the insulation strength of the aforementioned devices, specifically through:

 Power-frequency withstand voltage test: The primary application, used to assess insulation strength under power-frequency AC voltage.

 Leakage current test: Conducted in conjunction with a DC generator (requiring a rectifier unit) or as a basic AC leakage test.

 Specialized type tests: Used for educational experiments, material insulation breakdown testing, or fundamental laboratory research.
