Fully Automatic Kinematic Viscosity Tester
This kinematic viscometer complies with the GB/T 265-1988 standard ("Petroleum products—Determination of kinematic viscosity and calculation of dynamic viscosity") and is designed to measure the kinematic viscosity of liquid petroleum products (Newtonian fluids). The method involves measuring the time required for a specific volume of liquid to flow under gravity through a calibrated glass capillary viscometer at a constant temperature. The kinematic viscosity at that temperature is obtained by multiplying the viscometer's capillary constant by the flow time (the product of the kinematic viscosity and the liquid's density at that temperature yields the dynamic viscosity).
The instrument employs advanced fuzzy PID temperature control technology, achieving high precision with an accuracy of ±0.1°C. It supports standard temperature setpoints (e.g., 20°C, 40°C, 60°C, 80°C, 100°C) as well as custom temperature settings (above ambient temperature) and can function as a standard constant-temperature water bath.
It allows for the simultaneous operation of four glass capillary viscometers at the same constant temperature, with each viscometer capable of performing four repeated measurements to form a data set. In accordance with the national standard, the instrument automatically discards timing results that fall outside the permissible tolerance range and calculates the kinematic viscosity based on the average of the remaining valid readings. When precise results are not required (e.g., for a quick estimate of an unknown sample's viscosity), the kinematic viscosity can be calculated after one, two, or three timing runs, providing a rapid estimate; subsequently, upon completion of four timing runs, the instrument determines the final, precise kinematic viscosity value in strict accordance with the national standard.
This automatic kinematic viscometer for petroleum products features a high-definition color touchscreen with a clear, information-rich interface and responsive, flexible touch controls. It is equipped with a panel-mounted thermal printer that automatically and rapidly prints test results—including sample ID, test time, and kinematic viscosity values—upon completion of the test.
