Battery Capacity Tester/Storage Battery Capacity Tester - Testing Precautions and Features?

A storage battery capacity tester is a key device for evaluating battery performance. Its core features and testing precautions are as follows:

I. Main Features

1. Accurate Capacity Measurement: Employs intelligent constant current discharge technology to accurately calculate the actual discharge capacity and backup time of the battery, directly determining its health status (SoH), providing authoritative and reliable results.

2. Integrated Intelligent Functions: Integrates capacity discharge, internal resistance testing, and voltage monitoring functions, automatically completing tests, recording data, plotting curves, and intelligently generating analysis reports.

3. Comprehensive Safety Design: Equipped with overvoltage, overcurrent, high temperature, and reverse polarity protection, it can preset the discharge termination voltage to prevent battery over-discharge damage and ensure test safety.

4. Flexible and Portable Configuration: Modular design adapts to battery packs of different voltage levels and capacities. The equipment is portable and meets the on-site testing needs of computer rooms, substations, etc.

II. Testing Precautions

1. Safety First: Testing must be conducted in a well-ventilated environment to prevent the accumulation of hydrogen gas released from the battery during discharge, which could lead to an explosion risk. 1. Operators must wear insulated protective equipment.

2. Accurate Wiring: Before testing, ensure the battery pack is completely disconnected from the charger and the actual load. Strictly verify the positive and negative terminals during wiring to ensure a secure and reliable connection, preventing loose connections and sparking.

3. Rigorous Parameter Setting: Before starting discharge, the rated voltage, capacity, and discharge current (or discharge rate) of the battery pack must be accurately entered. Incorrect parameters will directly invalidate the capacity calculation results.

4. Close Process Monitoring: During discharge, a dedicated person must monitor the process closely, paying close attention to the voltage of each individual battery cell and the overall temperature. If any individual cell experiences a sudden drop in voltage or an abnormal increase in temperature, the test should be terminated immediately.

5. Effective Data Application: After testing, the battery pack should be recharged promptly. Record the actual discharge capacity in detail, compare it with the rated capacity, evaluate battery performance, and provide a basis for maintenance decisions.

Standardized testing is a crucial step in ensuring the reliability of DC power systems in data centers, substations, and other similar locations.

The MS-3986 220V charging, 40A discharging, 50A load capacity battery tester can function as a discharge load when the battery is offline. By continuously adjusting the discharge current, it achieves constant current discharge at a set value.

During discharge, the instrument automatically stops discharging when the battery pack terminal voltage, or the voltage of a single cell, drops to the set lower limit, the set discharge time is reached, or the set discharge capacity is reached. It records all valuable, continuous, real-time process data.

Product Features:
1. DC220V voltage charging and discharging function: A single unit can meet the charging and discharging testing needs of battery packs at DC220V voltage levels.

2. Uses high-precision resistors to avoid red-hot phenomena, making the entire discharge process safer.

3. The single-cell monitoring module uses long-distance radio frequency wireless communication for voltage data transmission and can set up to 4 independent frequency bands. This means that up to 4 monitoring systems can transmit data simultaneously in the same area without mutual interference or channel misalignment.

4. The wireless data acquisition box can monitor each battery cell, achieving complete monitoring of the battery pack's discharge process, and features three data acquisition methods:

5. Data transmission between the individual cell monitoring module and the charge/discharge instrument host.

6. Data transmission between the individual cell monitoring module and the USB wireless terminal.

7. Data transmission between the individual cell monitoring module, the charge/discharge instrument host, and the USB wireless terminal.

8. Each charge/discharge device can monitor 25 individual cell acquisition boxes, each capable of connecting 12 batteries, for a total of 300 batteries. The device automatically identifies the highest and lowest 6 battery cell numbers and voltage values, displaying them in different colors on the screen (optional).
